From the first person

For most of us, volunteering is a training that brings new experience, friends, and, not in the last instance, a civic activism. For my volunteering activity, recently, I was honoured with the title The Most Active Volunteer of the Year 2007, designated in the framework of the fifth edition of the Volunteers’ Festival. I received an award in the amount of 500 lei, a diploma and a bag full of leaflets, booklets and books published by the non-governmental organizations from the Republic of Moldova. But the gratitude for what I have done in 2007 stands above the material award. However, frankly speaking, there are many other things I wish to do and this award will be, undoubtedly, a stimulus to continue carrying out activities with the same pace and contentment.

At the same time, I would like to express my gratitude to all those who helped me to obtain the honourable title and award. Due to my colleagues I could obtain this award; they were always by my side, and we were always together when initiating one or another activity. I take off my hat to those who are engaged in volunteering and those who encourage and coordinate volunteering activity for the efforts they make for this movement and for their eagerness to do, with small financial support, great things for our times and realities.
