Training, seminars for professional groups

The trainings and seminars are oriented towards several categories of the target groups, priority being given to didactic staff, medical workers, job placement agencies workers, social workers, local public administration and NGOs representatives. The trainings and seminars are aimed to consolidate the professional abilities of the above mentioned groups in what concerns trafficking in human beings prevention. The obligatory elements of the education are:

  • Exhaustive analysis of the trafficking in human beings from the perspective of human rights
  • Trafficking in human beings and human rights
  • Mechanism of trafficking in human beings
  • Actors' profile, involved in trafficking in human beings
  • Control and exploitation of the trafficked persons
  • Consequences of trafficking in human beings
  • Phenomenon evolution from the juridical point of view
  • Information needed for a potential migrant in order to secure his/her migration process.

The education activity is based on the interactive methods of work:

  • Problem's presentation made by a moderator
  • Some information comments
  • Brainstorming
  • Case studies
  • Role plays
  • Simulations
  • Mosaic
  • Small groups' work

method which to permit facilitates access in the problem's essence.

During the period of January 2002 -May 2006, around 1700 school teachers from different regions of the Republic of Moldova have beneficiated from specialized training in the field of trafficking in human beings prevention.

  • The training "Introduction into the counselling issues and Hot Line administration in the field of counteracting the human trafficking" (February 2006, Transnistria).
    Goal: instruction and selection of consultants for the Hot Line in Transnistria, Tiraspol (in partnership with IOM, mission to Moldova).
    Participants: the future consultants of the Hot Line 0 800 88888 (Tiraspol).
  • A series of trainings "Prevention of human trafficking and promotion of a tolerant attitude towards the trafficked person", organized within the framework of the Social Campaign "I care about...", conducted by the International Center "La Strada" with the support of a number of international organizations – ICCO, Missions to Moldova of IOM and OSCE, European Commission (October 2005 – January 2006).
  • The training "Hot Line Management and the regime of counseling the beneficiaries with regard to human trafficking counteraction" (May 2005, Turkey)
    Goal: instruction of the Hot Line consultants 157 from Ankara, Turkey.
    Participants: volunteers of the International Center "La Strada"
  • The training "Counter-trafficking in human beings Hot Line counseling and operation skills" (May, 2004).
    The goal: training and selection of future Hot line counselors.
    Participants: International Center "La Strada" volunteers.
  • The training "The role of the school in human trafficking prevention", organized in the frames of National Info Campaign "Lilya 4-ever", conducted by International Center "La Strada" in collaboration with IOM (February - May, 2004).
    The goal: training and involvement of the didactic staff in the National Information Campaign "Lilya 4-ever" and in the prevention of trafficking in human beings on the local level.
    Participants: school directors, psychologists, form-masters from Edinet, Dondiuseni, Briceni, Rascani, Singerei and Glodeni counties.
