prevention and education in the area of the trafficking of women

Through preventative and educational activities, Resource Center we plan:

  • to treat the trafficking in women as an exhaustive problem and from the perspective of human rights violation;
  • to aware the young generation, and a society itself of the phenomenon of trafficking in human beings' existence, its moral and physical impact in order to broke the (re) trafficking cycle of the young women from the RM with the purpose of sexual and work exploitation;
  • to educate the youth in the field of safe migration, informing about migration process' realities, working abroad, legislation on migration and the consequences of it's violations, real level of life in European countries, that would reflect the migrant's status, all these to contribute to fortify the decision making process, taking a prudent and equilibrated decision based on information;
  • to promote a tolerant and non-discriminative attitude towards the trafficked woman (her non-stigmatization and non-victimization);
  • to consolidate the professional abilities of a different groups (didactic staff, workers of job placement agencies, social workers, local public administration, etc) with the purpose of the phenomenon' prophylaxis and assure the prevention and education efforts of the risk group.

The prevention and education activities are oriented towards information on trafficking in human beings dissemination and education of the target group with the purpose of phenomenon' prophylaxis.

Thus the trafficking in women is a violation of the human rights our activity mostly is oriented directly or indirectly (through professional groups involvement) towards youth, aimed to raise self-confidence, develop the abilities to make right, well informed decisions.

The prevention activity can be divided into two groups:

  1. primary prevention;
  2. secondary prevention.

The primary prevention is oriented towards following target groups:

  1. Risk groups - last year's pupils, teenagers from orphanages, students, and unemployed.
  2. Professional groups - didactic staff, job placement agencies' workers, local public administration, social workers;
  3. NGOs - local non-governmental organizations, youth associations, initiative groups, etc;

Secondary prevention is oriented towards the victims of trafficking and is aimed to inform the trafficked persons about the trafficking phenomenon, to raise their self-confidence, to cultivate life and professional skills in order to avoid their re-trafficking.

To achieve the goals and reach above-mentioned categories, the following instruments are used:

  • Hot - line / SOS line
  • Training, seminars for professional groups
  • Awareness raising seminars
  • Prevention efforts consolidation
  • Educational and info materials
  • Resource Center
