Prevention efforts consolidation

• Meeting of the Stability Pact Task Force on Trafficking in Human Beings ( Vienna , June 2004 )
  Participants: representatives of NGOs active in anti-trafficking; representatives of international organizations.
  Goal: to discuss the findings of the research on trafficking in human beings in the SEE for 2003 / 2004.
• UNODC Consultative Workshop on "NGO cooperation in combating human trafficking in Central and Eastern Europe : Media Strategies/Trafficking in Human Beings and HIV/AIDS" ( Vienna , April 2004 )
  Participants: representatives of NGOs active in anti-trafficking.
  Goal: to develop best practice for a media strategy, involving partnership with NGOs in Central and Eastern Europe.
• Round table "International Workshop - Networking against Trafficking in Human Beings" (Bucharest, Romania, March 2004 / AIDRom and IGP)
  Participants: representatives of NGOs active in preventing trafficking and assisting victims, experts and representatives of West European bodies.
  Goal: experience sharing and promotion of collaboration between NGOs, Churches, mass-media and state bodies.
• Round table "Civil society, state organizations - partnership in the prevention of the trafficking in women" (Chisinau, march 2003)
  Participants: representatives of NGOs active in anti-trafficking; representatives of state organizations.
  Goal: to fortify the created partnerships, and to clarify prospects and perspectives of collaboration between civil societies and states organizations.
• Seminar "The trafficking in women -prospects of solutions", organized together with CONTACT Center, Cahul and the State University from Cahul (Cahul, march 2002)
  Participants: representatives of local administration, local NGOs, volunteers of Peace Corps, students of the Galati University, "Dunarea de Jos" and from the State University from Cahul.
  Goal: To raise the sensitivity level of the state institutions and organizations, and civil society from these regions regarding the problem of trafficking of women, to elaborate on the recommendations for local prevention of the trafficking of women and the opportunities of collaboration between local administration, NGOs, and youth organizations.
• Round table "The Hot-line-an effective instrument in the prevention of the trafficking in women" (Chisinau, march 2002)
  Participants: representatives of the Migration Department, the Department of Combating Trafficking of human beings from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and representatives of local Hot and Help Lines.
  Goal: to establish a partnership between La Strada's Hotline, other phone counseling services, and governmental organizations competent in solving the problems of trafficking of women.
• 2 seminars "Improving Hotline activities in the prevention of trafficking in women" (Kiev, Ukraine, February - March 2002)
  Participants: the counselors of national Hotlines from Ukraine , counselors of the Hotline at "La Strada", Moldova , and representatives of Embassies and Consulates with headquarters in Kiev, Ukraine.
