Consolidation of the capacities of the professional groups

• The Seminar "Identification and social assistance to the victims of traffic: actions within the framework of the National Reference Mechanism", organized by the International Center "La Strada" in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Sport (February 2006)
  Goal: familiarization with the problem of trafficking in human beings as flagrant violation of human rights, with the international standards regarding the treatment of trafficked persons, familiarization with the existent mechanism of victims needs recovery and establish the collaboration modes regarding provision of the necessary assistance, development of skills of identifying the victims of trafficking, including minors, of working abilities with trafficked persons.
  Participants: specialists in protection of children rights from the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Sport (totally 14 persons from 14 regions of the Republic of Moldova)
• The workshop "Good practices of providing assistance to children, victims of trafficking in human beings" (December 2005),
  Goal: gathering the national good practices in the field of provision of assistance to children, victims of trafficking in human beings, learning and application of techniques for overcoming the syndrome of professional burn-out.
  Participants: social assistants and psychologists from non-government organizations (12 NGOs).
• The International Seminar "Exchange of good practices of direct work with children, victims of abusive practices", organized by CHILD HOUSE ONG from Palanga, Lituania (November 2005).
  Goal: exchange of good practices and methodologies of work with children, victims of trafficking in human beings.
  Participants: social assistants and psychologists from six (6) NGOs (Belarus, Lithuania, Leetonia, Ukraine, Russia and Moldova).
• Training seminar "Improvement of assistance services provided to children, victims of trafficking and their long-term reintegration" (November 2005), organized by the International Center "La Strada" with the support of ILO/IPEC Moldova for the representatives of NGOs and GOs.
  Goal: familiarization with the methodology for identification of the minors, victims of trafficking, with the international standards in the field of provision of assistance to victims, establishing of partnerships in five (5) regions as project targets.
  Participants: 37 representatives of NGOs (22) and GO (15).
• The Seminar "The Role of NGOs in establishing the National Reference System for the victims of trafficking", realized with the support of OSCE ODIHR (Warsaw) – as trainers there acted experts of the International Center "La Strada" (Kazakhstan, November 2005).
  Goal: familiarization of ONG representatives from Kazakhstan with the experience of the International Center "La Strada" (Moldova) of identifying the trafficked persons and recommended procedures in the field of providing assistance to victims, elaboration of informational campaigns regarding prevention of trafficking in human beings.
  Participants: 22 representatives of non-government and government organizations from all the regions of Kazakhstan.
• The Seminar "Identification and provision of social assistance to VHT: activities within the scope of the National Reference Mechanism" (August, 2005), organized by the International Center "La Strada" for social assistants and psychologists from NGOs.
  Goal: familiarization with the methodology of human trafficking victims’ identification, including minors, recommended procedures in the field of assistance provision to victims of human trafficking, discussion of case reference procedures.
  Participants: 25 social assistants and psychologists from NGOs.
• The Seminar "Churches from the Republic of Moldova: possibilities for efficient communication with trafficking supervisors" (March 2005, Cahul, May 2005, Soroca).
  Goal: implication of church representatives into activities for prevention, identification and providing assistance to victims of trafficking, familiarization of the priests with the methods of communication with affected persons, which have suffered from trafficking of human beings.
  Participants: 32 priests from Cahul district, 40 priests from Soroca district.
• The Seminar in the field of combating the trafficking in persons for the personnel of consulates, conducted within the scope of OSCE project "Consolidation of the Protection and Assistance provided to the Victims of Trafficking, Adults and Minors", in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova (July 2004).
  Goal: familiarization with the problem of trafficking in human beings and international standards in the field, the statute of the victim of trafficking in persons, identification of trafficked persons and recommended procedures in the field of assistance provided to the victims, repatriation procedures, the role of diplomatic missions in preventing and combating the trafficking in human beings.
  Participants: 23 representatives of foreign diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova.
• The Training "Efficient methodologies for preventing the trafficking in human beings and assistance provided to trafficked persons", conducted jointly with the National Agency for Occupation of Labor Force (June 2004).
  Goal: professional capacity building of the responsible specialists in territories for preventing the trafficking in human beings and providing social assistance to trafficked persons.
  Participants: specialists of the National Agency for Occupation of Labor Force from Chisinau city, districts of Basarabeasca, Leova, Briceni, Donduseni, Glodeni, Ocnita, Riscani, Singerei, Soldanesti and Telenesti.
• The Training "Capacity building of social workers and psychologists with regard to assistance provision to trafficked persons and their families" (May 2004), organized by the International Center "La Strada"; as trainers there acted experts of the "Animus" Association, Bulgaria.
  Goal: strengthening the professional abilities of the psychologists and social workers in the field of assistance provision to the trafficked persons and their families.
  Participants: social workers and psychologists from NGOs, government entities, International Organizations active on the field of social assistance provision to the trafficked persons and other vulnerable categories of population.
• Seminars "Training modules in the field of combating the trafficking in human beings for judges and public prosecutors"; Project realized by the Center for Advanced Training of Justice Specialists (April - June 2004).
  Goal: professional capacity building of judges and prosecutors regarding the activities of combating the trafficking in human beings and offering the necessary protection to trafficked persons.
  Participants: judges and prosecutors from the cities of Chisinau, Balti and Cahul.
• Six (6) seminars of professional training for judges and prosecutors, organized by the OSCE mission to Moldova (11, 18, 25 of February, 4, 11, 25 of March 2004) – as trainers was invited an expert from the International Center “La Strada"
  Goal: familiarization with the psycho-social statute of the victims of trafficking in human beings and local social infrastructure.
  Participants: prosecutors and judges from all the districts of the Republic of Moldova.
• The Training "Efficient methodologies for preventing the trafficking in human beings and providing social protection to the victims of trafficking" (December 2003).
  Goal: familiarization with the problem of trafficking in human beings, with the international standards regarding the treatment pf trafficked persons, with the mechanism and principles of meeting the needs of trafficked persons.
  Participants: 25 social assistance from the regional offices of the National Agency for Occupation of Labor Force.
• The training "The Role and tasks of the social worker in preventing the trafficking in women and providing assistance to the victims of trafficking in women", organized in collaboration with the Department of Social Assistance, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (November 2003).
  Goal: familiarization with the problem of trafficking in human beings, with the international standards regarding the treatment of trafficked persons, with the methods of potential and real victims’ identification.
  Participants: 25 social assistance from different localities of the republic.
• Informative seminar "Implication of Parish Priests into the process of ensuring access to assistance and justice for the victims of trafficking in human beings" (November 2003).
  Goal: familiarization with the problem of trafficking in human beings, development of identification and working abilities with the trafficked persons.
  Participants: 18 priests of Orthodox Parishes from Moldova, Cahul district.
• The training "The role and tasks of the social worker in preventing the trafficking in women and providing assistance to the victims of trafficking in women" (September 2003).
  Goal: familiarization of the participants with the problems of trafficking in human beings, with the international standards regarding the treatment of trafficked persons, with the methods for identification of the potential and real victims and phenomenon prevention.
  Participants: 25 social assistants from the Moldovan NGOs, the activities of which are meant for vulnerable persons.
• The seminar "The role of the social worker in preventing the trafficking in human beings", organized for the social workers from the branch offices of the Moldovan "Caritas" organization (June 2003).
  Goal: familiarization of the participants with the problem of trafficking, with the efficient techniques of intervention into the process of work with the at-risk group for prevention purposes.
  Participants: 26 social assistants and four (4) representatives of "Caritas" NGO, Czech Republic.
