social assistance to victims of women trafficking

Through the conducted activities the Contact Center organizes and provides social assistance with regard to psychological balance and physical health recovery, development of volition and moral abilities of the trafficked persons, in such a mode that they are capable to act independently and to assume the responsibility for everything is happening to them, to establish of some relations of reciprocal acceptance between the trafficked person and its social environment, as well as capacity building and consolidation of efforts of the professional groups involved in the process of providing assistance to the trafficked persons.

Providing social assistance to victims of TIW

  • Identification of cases of traffic/establish the statute of victim and associated activities (evaluation of risks and necessities, maintaining the contact with the beneficiaries, including via partner-organizations);
  • Assistance to the process of organizing the recuperation from the place of exploitation;
  • Assistance prior to repatriation, to the victim and its child, in case of its birth in the destination country (immediate accommodation, medical services and emergency psychological counselling, food products, clothing etc.);
  • Assistance for repatriation (organizing to obtain the necessary documents, organization of escorting during the trip to the country of origin in case of minors or in case when the state of the beneficiary indicates that, travel arrangements etc.);
  • Post-repatriation assistance (social support, organization of temporary accommodation, medical, psychological assistance, welfare, psycho-social assistance for family reintegration, counselling and juridical assistance, professional orientation and training etc.);
  • Indirect informational assistance via the Hot Line (search of missing persons, suspected to be victims) to the families of trafficking victims, informational support to the VHT (suspected), which temporarily refuse assistance, informational support to the victims of trafficking, which apply for the statute of resident in the country of destination.

The social assistance is carried out through the referral system, in partnership with different types of organizations at the national and international level.

  • Free of charge, unconditional assistance

The assistance provided by "La Strada" Center to victims of trafficking is based on the Human Rights Standards for the Treatment of Trafficked Persons.
