Elaboration of studies, reports

• The study „Identification of human trafficking victims”, 2005
  Objectives: Conceptualization of the notion "identification of human trafficking victims"; elaboration of recommendations with regard to improvement of the process for identification of the victims of trafficking in human beings.
  Results: editing the no. 2 subject publication "La Strada EXPRESS", with the subject "Identification of human trafficking victims", 2006

  The brochure includes:

  • the portrait of the victim of trafficking in persons and of the trafficker (recruiter), correlated with the statistic average;
  • data on the elements of trafficking mechanism;
  • conclusions with regard to the factors of influence and main tendencies towards spread of trafficking in persons in Moldova;
  • recommendations with regard to combating this phenomenon. (see Publications)

• The study "The trafficking in persons in the Republic of Moldova" (2001-2004)
  Objectives: utilization of statistic data accumulated by the International Center "La Strada", identification of the peculiarities of the issue referring to trafficking in persons in Moldova, determination of the factors which influence the evolution of the phenomenon, monitoring of the tendencies of phenomenon modification and elaboration of some recommendations for the decision factors regarding the intensity of the efforts for combating the trafficking. Results: issue the publication "Trafficking in persons in Moldova. Comments, tendencies, recommendations", 2005 (the study has been performed during the year 2004, the publication was issued at the beginning of 2005).

• The study "Identification of national capacities and resources with regard to creation of the National Reference System for the purpose of identification, assistance and protection of trafficked persons", launched under the auspices of OSCE Mission in Moldova, 2004
  Objectives: identification of the list of services offered to vulnerable persons, including the victims of trafficking in persons; identification of the providers of services for the vulnerable persons, including the victims of trafficking; the analysis of the framework which regulates the relationships and the level of collaboration between the services providers and other actors in the field.

  Results:

  • Database with regard to protection and assistance provided to vulnerable persons in the Republic of Moldova;
  • The matrix “Gaps and solutions referring to protection and assistance provided to trafficked persons”;
  • Considerations for creation of the National Reference Mechanism (NRM) with the purpose of providing protection and assistance to the trafficking victims in the Republic of Moldova;
  • "Inventory of the organizations from the Republic of Moldova, active in the field of providing protection and assistance to vulnerable persons, including trafficked persons", 2005;
  • Subject Publication no. 1 „La Strada EXPRES” – „The National Reference Mechanism for the protection and assistance provided to the victims of trafficking in persons. First steps in the Republic of Moldova”, 2005

• Participation to the elaboration of "The Guideline of Good Regional Practices for Comprehensive Development and Implementation of the National Anti-traffic Reaction" (Main developer: The International Center for Migration Policies Development, Vienna), 2004.
  Objectives: gathering and synthesis of the best models from the practice of 10 South-East Europe states (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Kosovo territory, Moldova, Bulgaria and Romania; elaboration of recommendations for defining the national strategy for counteracting the trafficking in human beings and the National Plan of Anti-traffic Actions, based on international standards of organization the combating of trafficking in persons, agreed by the countries in South-East Europe.

  Results:

  • Publication of "The Guideline of Good Regional Practices for Comprehensive Development and Implementation of the National Anti-traffic Reaction";
  • Elaboration, adaptation and implementation in the countries of South-East Europe of the new National Strategies and Plans for counteracting the trafficking in human beings, based on international standards;
  • Increase of the efficiency of measures for combating the trafficking in persons.

• Participation to the International study regarding the issues of security of returning the victims of trafficking in human beings and their social reintegration (ICCO and STV, Netherlands), 2004.
  Objectives: synthesis of practices of providing assistance to the victims of trafficking in 10 states of Eastern Europe and Asia; Elaboration of proposals for situation improvement.

  Results:

  • Publication of the report with regard to the performed study (synthesis of the information regarding the 150 cases of trafficking in persons in Europe and Asia), with recommendations regarding the improvement of the provided assistance and protection of trafficking victims;
  • Joint trip to Brussels of a delegation of representatives from 10 countries participating to the study, short speech in the European Parliament with proposals towards improvement of assistance and protection of the victims of trafficking in human beings.
